Prep time: 20 min to cook a cup or 150 gms of rice.
Cooking time- 15 minutes.
Serves- 1-2 people.
1 cup of cooked rice.
Butter – 2-3 teaspoons.
Onion- 1 medium (sliced)
Garlic- 5-6 pods chopped fine.
Turmeric powder- ½ teaspoon.
Salt to taste.
Heat 2-3 teaspoons of butter in a pan and fry the onions in them. Once the onions turn a little pink, add the chopped garlic and fry for 2-3 minutes till it loses its raw smell. Now add the turmeric powder, and saute for another 2-3 minutes. Now add the cooked rice and toss it around in low heat. Switch off the flame and add the required amount of salt.
- Any flavored rice tastes best only if the rice is cooked right. Mushy rice can spoil the dish.
- You may play around with garnishing, can add green chillies, add coriander leaves, or add more butter while cooking.
